The garden, the sauna, the animals, the library, and the sound of water are all part of a whole: an experience that reconnects you to your natural rhythm.
Here, people remember to breathe, slow down, and feel the beauty of an ordinary day.
The garden
Is there still hide and seek? Yes, there is.
There is also a garden where children can swing, roll around in the grass, or build their own sandcastles. They have their own world.
The grown-ups can watch them from the shade of the walnut or apple tree with a hot cup of tea or coffee in their hands.
And those who have no worries can still hide in the orchard or lounge on the swing until their meal is ready, whether it's hot soup or peasant pies, pancakes, or other delicacies.
Our garden covers almost 7,000 m², where we grow sage, mint, lemon verbena, rosemary, and many other plants that add flavor to our food and balance to our guests. Among the fruit trees, linden trees, and flowers are stones inscribed with words such as Love, Patience, and Gratitude—silent reminders to be present.

What you will find in our library
Art albums, encyclopedias, old and new volumes of prose, books of Romanian poetry, autobiographies, and stories of saints—and so much more! We have books waiting to pique your curiosity on shelves, windowsills, in cabinets, and tucked away in walls. You will find words on the page, and even on the wall, at Vila Castlelul Maria and at our sister location, Casa Maria - Respirația poeziei (The Breath of Poetry).
The story of the cats at Maria Castle
Once upon a time, there was a fluffy tomcat who wanted to be held from an early age, meowing loudly. That's why we called him Miu. He grew up, grew old, and became wise—he was our patient elder! He brought his friends, lovers, and enemies into the yard. Thus, many cats from our neighbors and descendants stayed with us, and many have enjoyed the garden and the caresses of visitors over time. They are waiting for you today—come and meet them!
Maria Castle is pet-friendly, and the animals are well cared for and accustomed to people.
